DRS Pivotal Power's EPS-LVH provides conditioned power to supply critical electronic systems in military land applications. Using 28 VDC power conforming to QSTAG 307, the EPS-LVH provides conditined 28 VDC output power.
Power conditioning is achieved by filtering of electromagnetic emissions and current and voltage limiting.
The power circuit design is mainly based on soft-switch-mode technology using intelligent MOSFET power modules. The use of high frequency pulse-width modulation provides excellent DC output voltage and current limiting, high efficiency and high power density. The electromagnetic interference (EMI) profile of the power circuit is kept low by adopting soft-switching techniques and using a degree of linear conversion.
The EPS has been developed as an embedded subsystem of the Information System segment of the Iris Radio System and the Bowman Radio System being used by the Canadian and UK military.
