The DRS Universal Power Systems Intelligent Voltage Selection ™ IVS 1500 Isolation Device provides 1500VA of nominal 120VAC output. This IVS unit automatically senses input voltages between 85 and 264 VAC enabling 120VAC loads to be operated virtually anywhere in the world from inputs within the specified range. IVS technology simplifies operation to a single ON/OFF function.
The IVS 1500 is designed for loads that do not require power conditioning, voltage regulation, or outage protection. It employs a compact voltage conversion and transformer isolation device that provides a separately derived source (referencing a single point ground).
The IVS 1500 input circuit breaker is a 15 amp thermal breaker that interrupts both the input line and neutral. The breaker provides instantaneous overvoltage protection and AC output short circuit protection. The intelligent voltage selection feature constantly monitors the input voltage and selects the most suitable input voltage tap. With IVS, voltage fluctuations of more than the preset range for the specified tap will change from the existing tap to a more suitable tap. Internal logic delays the tap change if it appears to be a momentary sag. The input isolation transformer provides common mode electrical noise attenuation and corrects for the damaging effects of a miswired input source such as a hot/neutral reversal.
